Yukon Territory - The Land of Magic and Mystery
Hello Steemians
Here's part 2 of my Canada adventure. These photos were taken in Yukon a few weeks ago.
Annie Lake is close to the main city Whitehorse. By the way, Whitehorse is the biggest town in the territory and it has only around 28 thousand inhabitants. The air was really calm that day so the water was like a mirror.
This place is called Five Finger Rapids. It's a formation of four large rocks splitting the Yukon river into five narrow streams. It is notorious for its rough waters and many shipwrecks when people were still mostly using the water for transport between inland and the coast.
The view from one of the hikes. They say there are two types of gold in Yukon. This territory now has a slogan "Larger than life" which relpaced the previous "Land of Magic and Mystery". Which one do you like better?
If you missed my previous post about the beauty of Canada you can see it here.
Have a great day everyone.
Larger than Life, and bigger then live. For sure Thats the right saying. And indeed what a Great place, still on my Bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
It is big. If you feel like you need to unplug from the society, this is the place to be. Glad you like it. Keep it on the list, you won't be sorry.
wow i thought the 2nd was amazing but then i saw the 3rd.. great pics!
Thanks, it's nothing compared to seeing it live.
A little "rocky" to my taste :p But nonetheless a beautiful place!
Indeed a rocky place. But this also means dry air, less rain and snow and more sun :)
I love rain though ^.^

My wife and I are planning to go to Whitehorse some time in March or so. Plan to stay somewhere where we might get to see the Northern Lights. If you check out my blog any suggestions would be welcome.
