If the UK really wanted to collect taxes from these rich people, they could simply tax the economic privileges that these people have in the UK. For example, if they own land or intellectual property, there's no way of sending that to the Isle of Mann so that it's no longer in the UK - it cannot be escaped.
But the UK doesn't do that, so it's their own fault that millionaires and billionaires get to avoid most taxes.
That's definitely true. However the people making those decisions in the UK are a government I don't exactly agree with, and the people who suffer from it are in general the poorer sector of the population. If you can't tell, I have mixed feelings about the island's financial setup...but the crypto revolution is going to change everything anyways, or so I hope!
