Shangarh, a Temple in the Meadows of Great Himalayan National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Shangarh, it is a meadow in the Great Himalayan National Park. This place offers some of the best experiences of the GHNP region. There is a huge meadow on the top of the mountain along with Shangchul Mahadev Temple. While traveling here, we can also experience the local culture of the Sainj Valley.

The picture below shows the Sainj Valley in its full glory. It was morning time when we traveled to this beautiful place in the GHNP region.

As stated above, this place also makes us experience the local culture to a great extent. In some pictures which are shown below, are the houses in which the locals live along with there cattle.

The photograph below shows a hut made for storing dried grass for the cattle. It's ground floor was the place for cattle and on the floor above, they stored the grass for winters.

This is the house in which the people live. It was morning time we reached this place. The sun was shining diagonally which made a spectacular view of the wood-made house in the meadows.

This was the actual meadow of the Shangarh. This photograph shows the Shangchul Mahadev Temple and the huge empty meadow of the mighty Shangarh.

The picture below depicts the highest made temple in the region. This temple is the home to the local devi-devta's. This temple is really well built all with the wood and stones.

The Shangarh meadow is a huge grassland. The picture below shows the mightiness of the meadow as compared to the size of the human. This place is very holy as well as full of beauty which makes this place a must visit place in Sainj valley.
