I FOUND THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD

It is common to underestimate what belongs to us and to praise what others possess; However, when it comes to natural beauty, my country, Venezuela, has no comparison. Venezuela has 916,445 km² of extension, and in each corner you find a landscape that leaves you breathless and makes you sigh, thanking again and again having been born here.

At the beginning of the year I crossed from east to west to know what, for me, is the best beach in the world. Throughout the Falcon State I found Morrocoy, an archipelago of crystal clear waters, tall palm trees and white sand. From the small town of Chichiriviche you take some peñeros (boats) that walk you through the Morrocoy National Park; I visited two of the many keys that make up this archipelago, Cayo Sombrero and Cayo Las Ánimas.

Cayo Sombrero

The largest islet of this archipelago, has the distinction of having two beaches, you arrive in the boat to one with cold waters, you cross the island in 50 steps through palm trees and mangroves and you find another beach with warm waters and just as Transparent This is the island with more affluence, so you can find seafood vendors, a small restaurant and awnings.

I could not tell you that such is the icy beach, because I'm not a fan of freezing, but the other side has been the best place I've ever been in the world (and I've known beaches). Soft sand, radiant sun, calm sea and no waves, no matter how hard you walk, it never becomes deep; You can spend hours and hours on the beach and you will not have more than relaxation.

Without a doubt, I recommend Cayo Sombrero to anyone who is looking for tranquility or a tropical and cozy landscape.

Cayo Las Ánimas

The next day, in search of another key, review photos of Las Animas; I thought it was amazing what I could see in photos, the most beautiful and turquoise waters I had seen in my life. However, when I arrived I was disappointed a little, it was desolate, the sand had many corals and the waters were terribly cold.

After spending some time sunbathing, something boring, I decided to 'explore' the islet and I found a small tropical paradise; Between mangroves I discovered hot waters, without the fuss caused by tourists and photogenic landscapes.

I did not expect to find a paradise behind this mangrove. Own source.

Coro

In Falcón, not everything is beach. Coro, its capital, is full of history, religion and tradition. 2 hours by car from Chichiriviche, you find the picturesque city of Coro.

In this cultural heritage of humanity declared by UNESCO; Colorful old houses, cathedrals and squares immerse you in the Venezuelan reality of the 16th century. Upon arrival, a group of tour guides walked us through the most important places of the capital at no cost.

Medanos de Coro

Yes, although it may seem incredible, near the beach there is a desert, being one of the most famous and visited tourist attractions in Venezuela. The dunes are dunes or mountains of sand in constant movement where you can, from wallowing from the top, to sandboarding or rustiquear in 4x4 vehicles.

When leaving the dunes, you come across a sale of Cocos and Cocadas (cold drink of Coco with Milk), which do not fall bad after being so long under the sun, surrounded by hot sand.

That's how I fell in love with a place I did not expect anything from. Hopefully one day we Venezuelans value everything we have that, although being one of the most fortunate and richest countries in the world, we idolize everything that is beyond our borders; That day, I am sure that we will use our resources to the fullest, giving them the value they deserve and we will become a truly rich country.
