Pula- Arena one of the six largest Roman amphitheaters in the world
Did you know that Croatia has own Coliseum ? Is Arena - Amphitheater located in Pula
The monument was built during the reign of the Emperor Vespasian, who was also responsible for the construction of the Coliseum and is one of the six largest Roman amphitheaters in the world and one of the best preserved .
A visit to the Pula arena not only includes the ability to walk around the interior, but also tour the museum in the subterranean hall below where the gladiators and animals were held.
It was primarily used for gladiator fights in front of 20,000 spectators. Today, it is the venue for many different events - Pula Film Festival, various concerts, opera, ballet, sports competitions... since its capacity is about 5000 spectators.
