GUNUNG SALAK KINI MENJADI DESTINASI WISATA FAVORIT

Pegunungan yang terletak di antara Kecamatan Nisam Antara itu, awalnya merupakan jalan tembus yang dibangun oleh PT Kertas Kraft Aceh sekitar tahun 1987.

Jalan tembus yang membelah pengunungan tersebut dinamakan Jalan KKA mengambil singkatan dari perusahaan kertas dimaksud, yang saat ini tidak berproduksi lagi.

Sedangkan dulu jalan itu digunakan untuk mengangkut kayu pinus dari kawasan Aceh Tengah sebagai bahan baku kertas.

Namun kini, seiring waktu jalan dimaksud sudah diaspal dan layak dilalui kendaraan, sehingga banyak warga Aceh pesisir terutama yang berada di pesisir pantai utara dan timur Aceh, bila hendak ke kawasan wilayah Aceh Tengah atau dataran tinggi Gayo lebih memilih Jalan KKA ini. Selain lebih hemat waktu, juga lebih hemat bahan bakar bila harus memutar jauh melalui Kabupaten Bireun.

Dan tidak hanya menjadi jalan alternatif namun kawasan perbukitan antara Kabupaten Aceh Utara dan Kabupaten Bener Meriah tersebut kini menjadi obyek wisata terfavorit dikarenakan panorama alam yang indah.Apalagi sejumlah warga di sana memasang payung aneka warna di bagian atas pepohonan.
