A Paradise on Earth โ€“ El Nido, Palawan

Hello Steemit Friends!
Let me share with you the beauty of one of the best tourist spots in the world โ€“ El Nido, Palawan in the #Philippines

I am not good in writing but I was inspired by Ms.@sweetsssj, so I have decided to write a short travel article.

One of my best & favorite shots - Sunset at Bacuit Bay

To get to El Nido, Palawan from Manila, we rode a plane going to Puerto Princesa International Airport. After the plane ride, we still had to take a 6-8 hours drive to reach our destination.

Double Gem Beach Resort
Walking to the beach
We stayed at Double Gem Beach Resort in Corong-corong, El Nido, Palawan. It is a beach front resort. With just a very short walk, you could already enjoy the beach.

We woke up early in the morning to go island hopping. You can choose between tour A, B, C or D or a combination of two. We took tour A & C which includes Small Lagoon, Big Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island, 7 Commando Beach, Helicopter Island, Matinloc Shrine, Secret Beach and Hidden Beach. (I want to come back to try tour B & D.)

The water is so clear even in the mainland beach

Our first stop is in the small lagoon. It has clear shallow waters surrounded by rock formations.

Second stop is the big lagoon. It has deeper water compared to the small lagoon and is also surrounded by rock formations. There is a floating platform in the middle of the lagoon where you can stand and take some photos.

Next is the secret lagoon but I can't tell you about it cause it's a secret. ๐Ÿ˜‚ You have to enter a hole on a big rock formation to get into the secret lagoon.

Going to Shimizu Island

This was the view while we were eating our lunch
Time for LUNCH!!! We had our lunch in Shimizu island. According to the boatmen, Shimizu island is favorite place of the local boatmen for spending the lunchtime. I asked one of our boatmen who was preparing our meal "how did he got good at cooking". He said that he was a former hotel employee. His cooking skills was great.
For our lunch, we had crabs, squid and fish. We also had ensaladang talong (eggplant salsa) and cucumber, tomatoes & white onions. Of course, we also had some tropical fruits like mango, banana and pineapple. Eating by the beach is very satisfying. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

His presentation of food is great ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Let's EAT!!! ๐Ÿด

Shimizu island beach
After having our lunch, the next destination was Matinloc shrine. It is an abandoned site but tourist are still allowed to visit. Beside the shrine you can climb the limestone rock formation to see a beautiful view.

Second to the last stop is the hidden beach. It is a beach that is concealed by rock formations.

Last stop at 7 Commandos beach
According to the boatmen, this was called 7 Commandos beach because 7 soldiers got stranded and lived in the island until their boat got repaired.

Bacuit bay in El Nido, Palawan is facing the west. Because of this, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset along the beach before the day ends. Behold the wonderful sunset in El Nido, Palawan ๐Ÿ‘Œ
The trip was really worth it. It was refreshing being with nature. I wanted to stay an extra day to visit the other island but it would not fit our schedule.

If you are planning to have a summer vacation in the #Philippines, I highly suggest that you visit El Nido, Palawan. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I also blogged about el Nido.. i wonder why we didn't go to the other islands you mentioned here...

Did you take the tour package o just rented a boat? Based on what I heard, the boatmen will normally offer you tour A or C.

Yeah, the atmosphere is different in places like this ๐Ÿ˜

wow, this looks amazingly beautiful!! I wish I can visit this place in the future!

You should visit it. Without a doubt, you'll love it. ๐Ÿ˜

@ninjace I bet I would!

I also visted these islands just this month and we also got A and C but we spent a day for each tour. I hope you had a longer time to spend during your El Nido trip. That long 5-8 hour drive is really worth it after all right? ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Yeah the trip was worth it ๐Ÿ‘
