A new landmark in Antwerp, Belgium from the late Zaha Hadid.
Unfortunately the Iraqi, architect Zaha Hadid died in march this year and she never witnessed the completion of her work in Antwerp.
Just north of Antwerp along the old harbourdocks, an old harbourmaster's house was transformed in a modern architectural masterpiece.
Been following the work in progress for some years, being a fan and two weeks ago the work was completed.
The new building is an incorporation of an older construction, transformed to the newest standards.
A shot taken on a bridge over the docks, work in full swing.
Early stages of the work. Before,
after.
Some shots, that don't do the work much credit though,
Hadid has created some awesome buildings, best you discover her yourself or just google her name.
A distant shot, with the new harbour master's building on the horizon.
Anyway what more can i say, it's truly an amazing new landmark and what a tragedy to have lost such a great artist, architect, woman.
