Visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok

I am in Bangkok for a few days staying near Khaosan Road and I decided to make a trip down to the famous Grand Palace in Bangkok. Grand Palace is the city's most remarkable architectural landmark and I will definitely recommend anyone who hasn't been there to make a trip down! Totally worth your time.

Well, my experience going to Grand Palace is really a close shave. I nearly got scammed. You must definitely be vigilant and beware of scams. There will be touts near the Grand Palace entrance telling you that the palace is closed today and they will suggest you hire them for their guided tour by which they will bring you to other places. DO NOT GO FOR THIS!!!! They will bring you to places where you will be pressurized to buy things at ridiculous prices. Just say "No" politely and walk away.

It is highly important to note that you need to be properly attired with an appropriate dress code when you visit the palace. Having said that, note that no tank tops are allowed. Also, no bare feet are allowed and women must not wear any see-through or bare shoulder clothes. Please obey the rules & regulations as this is a sacred place.

The weather in Bangkok can be quite hot, therefore I recommend you to bring your water bottles along and get hydrated. If you don't have a water bottle, you can consider buying the super chilling Thai Ice Tea from the shops in the Grand Palace. :) Also, apply some sunblock and bring along an umbrella.
