TRIP TO: Palomino (La Guajira)
Palomino is the gateway to La Guajira in northern Colombia.
A beautiful Caribbean village, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.
There is very strong Kogui culture, natives of the area, known for their techniques in tissues and their spiritual wisdom.
The village is surrounded by a lot of vegetation, the forest is present there in fauna and flora and the warm climate of the Caribbean breeze are present.
There is where the jungle ends and abruptly transforms into the Guajira desert where you have the famous Cabo de la Vela.
One thing to do in Palomino is to rent one of the giant "gomones" to be able to float along the Palomino River from the jungle until it empties into the Caribbean Sea, or take long walks along the long coast to the mouths.
The coastal strip is abundant in coconut palms.
We took a walk with friends from Spain and Chile which was very good.
The views are perfect at all points.
Rest from the sun under the palms and pick up some coconut is good but you have to be careful with our head because if one falls on it should not be very fun.
We arrived at one of the mouths and the river was even warmer than the sea, but to cool off was fine.
Then the next day we continue to Venezuela, because of its proximity to the border Palomino is also a rest stop for those who go there.
I hope you enjoyed the ride.
