I love seeing all of these old mosaics, I imagine this is a wonderful space to walk around and spend time. I am curious where the scenes in these photos are located and can't find Volubilis on the map nor Meknes but will look it up online.
It was an awesome way to spend some time. We were with a guide, who provided a thorough history of every structure within the site. His knowledge of Volubilis was extensive. But this is a place one could visit just for the serenity and a self-guided tour. Most of the important structures have a sign nearby providing a bit of context. Nothing like you will get from a guide, but at least some context. The old mosaics are amazing. I wish they would protect them better.
