The brother in law and I are cycling it next spring over a weekend and camping when I'm back in the UK. We will be running from Liverpool back to Leeds as it should increase our speed as we attempt to escape the wrong side of the Pennines to get home. He is a Scot, and I'm a Yorkshireman so we won't be too worried about 'aggressive' ducks ;-)
Great photos, it's a beautiful route but sad that like many places, there are always a few knobheads trying to spoil things for the many.
Would love to do that, but this missus is scared of cycles. There's plenty of cyclists on there, and I have done some alone but its a bit crap on your own.
