Travel Challenge # 21: Chongqing, China
Hello, Friends :) My good friend soon moved to Chongqing, China to open his own Bulgarian restaurant. My interest in Asia has always been significant and I have always wanted to go. After learning, I was very happy and decided I would not have the right time to visit this destination. For that, within a few months I managed to plan a trip and I began to look forward to counting the days.
The road was long. I was traveling over 24 hours. After having had to change planes in Sofia (Bulgaria), then Moscow, from Moscow to Beijing and from there to take an internal field to Chongqing. I will not go into detail about my misfortunes at all these airports, because that is not the purpose of this post. Finally, when I arrived, I realized that all these mistakes were worth.
After leaving the airport, I remained silent and dedicated myself to studying this impressive demographic organism called Chongqing. Considering the fact that I grew up in a city with a population of 600,000 people, imagine my reaction when I arrived in a city with a population of more than 50 millions. We headed for the apartment where I was going to stay. Here is a small view from
This is my friend. A famous Bulgarian chef decided to dump this city. Shortly after we set up our luggage and went to our restaurant to showcase his work. The restaurant was located on the 41st floor of a large skyscraper in which it managed to satisfy the gas-stationary desire of the local population. The inference to our kitchen was significant and it could only please me.
The first night was amazing, full of laughter and stories about how the months we had not seen are past the next day. Over time, I realized that no matter how much I tried, it would not be time for me to go anywhere, but that did not bother me.
In the days that followed, I gave myself tens of miles of walks each day to enjoy this culture. The fact that my friends had to work and I was alone in most of the tours did not bother me. I updated my phone cards, loaded my backpack with everything I needed, and started off every morning. I will not lie to you I lost a few times;)
