This was one of our fascinating family vacation to Egypt. It was my long time desire to be in this place and explore the mystical Pyramids. Larger than life and makes you feel so insignificant. There are about 70 Pyramids in Egypt but these are the 3 main one.
The pyramid were royal tombs and considered to be the place of ascent for the spirit of the deceased pharaoh. It was believed that the soul would travel to the after life and if it chooses to come back to earth again it would be through the top point of the pyramid. The dead body of the pharaoh was mummified and buried with all the things it would need for the afterlife.
To think of it the marvel is man made in those days with absolutely no machine technology and only going with the brain technology and some man made natural tools.

Ohh yes it was peaceful, there were some demonstrations in Cairo but it really did not bother us. The media hypes it up all. A tip if you visit Egypt, do not miss to travel to Hurghada Its a beach side place, completely in contrast with the other places in Egypt.
It was my first Camel ride :-) so I was kind of really jittery hence opted for the double seat :-) but total fun

Yes it is very mystic, we had planned almost a 2 weeks holiday and felt it was a little rush. To see the length and breadth of this place and understand the history you nee good amount of time, but its worth watching once in your lifetime.
