Pulau Aceh Adalah salah satu kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Kawasan pulau aceh didominasi oleh pulau-pulau kecil yang masih belum berpenghuni, hanya pulau nasi dan pulau breuh yang dihuni oleh manusia. Di kecamatan pulau aceh ada 17 desa dengan 3 kemukiman yaitu mukim Pulau Breuh Selatan, Pulau Breh Utara dan Mukim Pulau Nasi. Umumnya mata pencaharian masyarakat disini adalah Nelayan. Semua kebutuhan masyarakat Kecamata Pulau Aceh bergantung dari transportasi laut dari Banda Aceh, baik kebutuhan pokok maupun kebutuhan lainnya seperti semen untuk pembangun.

Perjalan ke pulau aceh harus melalui pelabuhan lampulo Banda Aceh. Ada empat orang yang ikut dari kantor untuk mempersiapkan acara tersebut. Bersama kami ikut serta sekretaris kecamatan.kami menumpang Kapal Motor yang memang khusus melayani rute pelabuhan lampulo dan pulau breuh. Kapal ini Selain mengangkut Penumpang juga mengangkut bahan kebutuhan pokok yang akan dijual ke pulau breuh nantinya. Kami menunggu selama satu jam di pelabuhan lampulo sampai semua barang siap.

Kondisi penumpang di Kapal Motor ini duduk di dalam berdesak-desakan. Saya melihat ada bidan dan perawat yang sudah siap dengan pelampung serta beberapa tentara yang akan melakukan piket selama seminggu di pulau aceh. Dari ceritaanggota TNI tersebut aktivitas mereka sehari-hari hanya memancing saja. Biaya yang harus dikelurkan untuk satu oarang adalah Rp 20.000- 35.000 diluar barang yang dibawa. Bagi kalian yang ingin berkunjung kesini akan mudah kalau membawa kereta sendiri. Biarpun saat ini sudah ada yang menyewakan kendaraan selama di pulau aceh. Tempat yang paling enak duduk adalah di ujung kapal sambil menikmat keindahan laut Aceh. Kalau kalian beruntung dala perjalanan lebih kurang dua jam akan bisa melihat sekelompok lumba-lumba yang sering terlihat di tengah-tengah laut. Saaat sampai di pelabuhan pulau breuh kami sudah ditunggu oleh Masyarakat disana dengan menggunkan Mobil operasional kecamatan

Pulau Aceh termasuk dalam kawasan bebas Sabang yang dikelola oleh Badan Pengusahaan Kawasan Sabang ( BPKS) seperti yang tertuang dalam undang-udang Nomor 11 tentang Pemerintahan Aceh. Sangat banyak potensi wisata yang bisa kalian nikmati disini. Seperti wisata sejarah, pariwisata bahari serta wisata alam. Adapun wisata bahari yang terdapat di pulau aceh adalah pantai Deumit, Pantai Alue Reuyeng, Pantai Pasi, Pantai Nipah, Pantai Pasie Raya, Pantai Balu, Pantai Pasi Lambaro, Pantai Mata-Ie, Pantai Krisek, Pantai Lapeng serta Pantai Meulingge

Dari informasi peserta pelatihan di pulau aceh ada satu mercusuar yang angat terkenal namanya mercusuar Willem Toren III letak mercusuar ini diatas bukit yang sangat tinggi ( saya hanya setengah perjalan ke mercusuar ini karena saat itu kondisi hujan sehingga kereta yang saya pakai tidak bisa sampa ke mercusuar. Padahal saya sangat ingin melihat langsung mercusuar yang sangat terkenal ini).

Kabarnya mercusuar ini dibangun pada tahun 1875. Namanya diadopsi dari nama Raja Luxemburg kala itu, Willem Alexander Paul Frederik Lodewijk ( Raja Willem III). Kabarnya hanya ada tiga didunia. Selain di Pulau Aceh tower yang serupa ada di Belanda dan Kepulauan Karibia. tinggi mercusuar sekitar 85 meter. Bagi kalian yang beruntung bisa sampai ke puncak mercuar akan dapat menikmati keindahan panorama keindahan pulau aceh, pualau paling barat di Indonesia. Dari atas puncak menara ini juga kalian bisa melihat bangunan kuno bekas peninggalan penjajahan belanda

Disini belum semua rumah dialiri listrik dan tidak 24 jam. Aliran listrik hanya dihidupkan pada malam hari yang bersumber dari pembangkit listrik Tenaga Deisel ( PLTD seurapoeng). Akses jalan antar desa juga sangat bagus. Jalan beraspal dengan ruas jalan yang lebar.sangat nyaman menikmati keindahan sepanjang jalan dengan kereta. Yang paling banyak disini adalah pelabuhan-pelabuhan kecil yang ada hampir di setiap desa yang kami lalui.

Sore hari kita juga bisa menikamti indahnya sunset sore dipinggir pantai yang indah. Saat saya disana sore hari kami diajak ke palabuhan seurapong oleh pak sekcam untuk mengambil ikan dari salah seorang keuchik yang akan kami bakar dimalam perpisahan hari terakhir pelatihan. Malam hari di pulau aceh sangat tenang dengan suara deburan ombak di pinggir pantai serta suara jangkrik dan binatang malam lainnya di hutan yang ada disekitar tempat kami menginap

Saya paling terkesan dengan sikap ramah dari masyarakat pulau breuh. Mereka selalu menawarkan abntuan bagi setiap pendatang serasa berkunjung ketepat seudara jauh disini. Selain intu katanay disini masih ada satu tradisi yang diperingati setiap tahun yaitu malam pertemuan antara muda-mudi di pulau nasi. Pemuda dari pulau breuh datang ke pulau nasi dengan menggunakan bot. Satu yang kurang disini adalah sinyal hp yang masih tidak semua tempat ada. Tetapi tidak menyulutkan semngat kami dalam meikmati setiap detik di pulau ini
