Spain - France - Portugal - Germany - Miami - New York - Dubai - Tokyo -  India - Thailand 

Out of all the places in the world that I got to visit, MAURITIUS is now officially among my favorite destinations ever. For several reasons...  

It looks and feels like paradise on earth. Honestly besides the mosquitos, it is the perfect place  to work, meditate or simply relax because it is calm and has great energy. For some reason I knew this island was a special and magical place, the moment we landed. I looked outside the airplane window and could see the beautiful mountains!

The Weather 

I really forgot that it is winter, because every day in Mauritius is summer with 28-32 degrees celsius.  The temperature is great, not too humid and especially in areas like Grand Baie, directly at the beach the wind breeze is just perfect.  

The Food 

We have been eating mainly Indian food, which is really good. But nothing tops the meal we had last night, when our local friend „Skippy“ made traditional creole food. He is a chef cook in Mauritius and definitely proved his skills. Creole food is similar to Indian food, but in my opinion a little more exotic. The delicious salad he made with lettuce, kiwi, oranges, chips with an ice cream dressing. 

As a side we had a sweet pumpkin dish and as a main dish lentils with a lovely vegetable curry and homemade Naan bread. He even put chips together with fruits and mixed it together like a paste. This of course was a very special meal. Other than that we also had lots of fruit juices and shakes. My favorite one is Mango, always!

The People

Mauritian people are very friendly and welcoming. I felt safe in the areas we've visited, also at night which is nice especially as a woman. I've been to quite a few countries and this kind of "home" feeling I don't get in a lot of places. Even though you can tell from far away that we are tourists, it's nice to not feel like one when the locals are as accepting and friendly to you. Unlike in Germany you can easily smile at strangers and they will return the smile. And once again thank you @progressivechef for the lovely Christmas Dinner!

But my favorite part of all...

The Nature 

What I really love about Mauritius is that it has a great infrastructure, nice city fully equipped with everythiing you need, but at the same time you still have beautiful nature, mountains, oceans and green. Mauritius has real nature and you can really take off days from the noise in the city or work, unplug yourself and explore a small island with a boat, go in the mountains or visit the botanical garden. 

Meditation

 The vortex at Riambel

A  place with an elevated source of Energy, A healing centre for body and soul. 

A brief introduction about the Vortex of Riambel, Mauritius.

The vortex is found in Riambel, a small village in the south of the island of Mauritius. Energy  with intense vibratory levels flow there. Borbered by  filaos, this place is a bit isolated and in a precise area one can feel this wonderful and porwerful energy vibrate.

This is a period appropriate for change. The vortex found in Mauritius is the first to be active (thirteen others will be found on Earth). The cosmic energies which are found there will help with these changes taking place as much for the planet as for the humans.
 

The Vortex : healing center for the boby and upliftment for the soul of human beings.
 

The energy travels in spirals through the vortex regulating the energetic disbalance within those who sit there for at least twenty minutes. It's one of those things you must experience to fully understand. 

Our visit to this place was very special and I felt enlightened, empowered and happy afterwards. I wouldn't share this with anyone, but because you Steemians are always very appreciative I am sharing this with you. If you ever decide to travel to Mauritius this is a special place to visit. When we were there we got "lucky" because there was a woman who could do psychic cartomancy/ tarot reading and couldn't have been more accurate. This was definitely one of my favorite and magical experiences of 2017. 

The Sunrise and Sunsets

Lastly, you know how much I adore the sun rising and setting especially over the Indian ocean and in Mauritius every day you can experience this beautiful spectacle. We spent almost every dinner outside at the beach.

And it wouldn't have been the same without the travel crew!
