RE: Travel Story: Hitchhiking to Perito Moreno Glacier & Washing Clothes on a River

Thank you @veckinon!

You've got to see that place for yourself. The whole thing feels alive, it moves and moans just like described, and when you least expect it a gigantic ice block falls making a loud thunder sound that echoes through the valley followed by the waves on the water. It's just incredible!

Sort:

Here's a crazy question. Was the wave surfable? Guys surf those in Alaska!

Whaaat, do they really surf? I'd say that with a long board or a sup it's quite possible. But how much time can one stand in the freezing water?

You don't always have to wait in the water. It depends on the conditions but you can just wait and paddle out when it breaks off

Insane! I've seen a video of some guys boating along a massive ice wall in Antarctica when a gigantic piece fell. They immediately runned away, but still, small pieces came flying like bullets.

It's pretty wild! Here's some in Alaska

Whaaaaaat?!? The commentator on that video basically summarized what I was thinking in my head hahahaha "holy pepperoni"
