Now Let's get to our next destination .
The Citadel of Qaitbay , or what we call (قلعة قايتباي)
The Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria was considered as one of the most important defensive strongholds, not only in Egypt, but also along the Mediterranean Sea coast. It formulated an important part of the fortification system of Alexandria in the 15th century AD .
Historical Tip : it was constructed by Sultan Qaitbay 1477 AD-882 AH.

Pompey's Pillar or what we call (عمود السواري) which is a Roman triumphal column , and the largest of its type constructed outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople .
It's around 27 m high including its base and capital .

Now Let's get to The Library of Alexandria

It was was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world , But Unfortunately it was destroyed in a great fire in 48 BC during Caesar's Civil War when Caesar set fire to his own ships which after burning the dock spread and destroyed the library .
In 1974 The idea of reviving the old library was stated by committee from Alexandria University which lead the UNESCO to raise funds in order to rebuild the library . Construction work began in 1995 and on 16 October 2002 , the Library was officially inaugurated .
