Germany's second largest Castle Ruin + Landscape
Hello dear readers!
Today I would like to take you on a trip to Castle Ruin Homburg. This is the second largest castle ruin in Germany, which I wasn't really aware of at the beginning. It is located in Bavaria, to be more precise in Gössenheim, district Main-Spessart.
To go there is relatively simple, I would say. At some point, when you are in Gössenheim, you will be guided to a not too steep mountain. If you drive it up you can park on a small gravel parking lot! :)
Impressions from nature
To give some impressions of the Nature there, I took some pictures. I hope they bring some warmth and colour into the cooler season! You have a nice view up there, although it's not that high! It is very dreamy and quite untouched I think! That little bench on the hill...Fabulous!
What makes this place so beautiful for me
So I have to say, although it is the second largest castle ruin in Germany it was quite empty up there every time I was there. Listening to this silence or the sounds of nature and the insects was simply great. And then these old walls everywhere? This creates an interesting atmosphere. I was up there until the sun went down, you could see the sunset from up there!
Soooo, but since this post is also about the castle ruin, here are some pictures:
But this ruin has a completely different feeling.

I have no longer the original files of the pictures but only the reduced uploads, so don't be surprised about the quality...
Last but not least
I have to admit, these pictures are about 3 years old just like the excursion. I've never published these pictures (except for uploading to another profile) and so I thought - this is my chance! I still remember this trip quite well because it was really nice! All pictures are from me and completely unedited, (except for the thumbnail) because I don't have Lightroom anymore. I took these pictures with 13-14 years, so please be not so strict! I've always been a little photography lover :D I hope some of you will read it until here, there's a picture at the end as a reward!
