Beach that kills people - My Travel Diary
Imagine walking on a slippery trail for over 1 hour and then seeing such view. A quiet beach with almost no people around hidden from the masses. It feels like an ideal place for a short swim and having fun in the waves. However, it's not like that. Actually, there isn't anyone swimming there. When coming to the beach, there isn't any big red sign saying that swimming is forbidden. Instead, there is a simple wooden plate saying that unseen currents have killed almost hundred visitors. ⠀
⠀
When I went to the beach and saw the mass of water that was hitting the rocks and it's immense power, I understood. I just refreshed my feet in the water and already felt how it was pulling me away from the beach. I would never imagine that the currents can be SO strong. The hike itself and the beach is amazing and I can only recommend it. But really, don't swim in the water. ⠀
⠀
The beach is called Hanakapiai Beach and you can find it on the Kalalau trail. Enjoy!⠀
The beach looks hilarious! Thanks for sharing your impressions and warning with us.
