Bunaken National Park in North Sulawesi - Bunaken National Park is representative of Indonesia's tropical marine ecosystem consisting of mangrove forest ecosystems, seagrass beds, coral reefs, and terrestrial / coastal ecosystems. Bunaken National Park is a marine park located in North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.
Bunaken National Park is located in the Coral Triangle which is home to 390 species of coral reefs as well as various species of fish, mollusks, reptiles and marine mammals.
Bunaken National Park is representative of Indonesia's marine ecosystems, including sea meadows, coral reefs and coastal ecosystems was established in 1991 and covers an area of 890.65 km ².97% of the park is a marine habitat, while the remaining 3% is land, covering five islands: Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage, Naen and Siladen.
Location of Bunaken National Park
Bunaken National Park can be reached via Manado Harbor, Marina Nusantara Diving Center (NDC) in Molas Subdistrict and Blue Banter Marina.From Manado Harbor by motor boat to the island of Siladen can be reached + 20 minutes, Bunaken island + 30 minutes, Montehage island + 50 minutes and Nain island + 60 minutes.
From Blue Banter Marina by using the available yachts to tourist areas on the island of Bunaken can be reached within 10-15 minutes, while from the port of NDC to dive sites on the island of Bunaken by speed boat taken within + 20 minutes.
The northern part consists of Bunaken Island, Manado Tua Island, Montehage Island, Siladen Island, Nain Island, Little Nain Island, and some coastal areas of Tanjung Pisok.While in the southern part covering some coastal Tanjung Kelapa.
The land that is part of the island's national park is rich with various types of plants such as palm, sago, woka, silar and coconut.Wildlife species in the mainland and coastal bunaken national parks include Sulawesi black monkey (Macaca nigra nigra), deer (Cervus timorensis russa), and kuskus (Ailurops ursinus ursinus).
The types of plants present in the Bunaken National Park mangroves are Rhizophora sp., Sonneratia sp., Lumnitzera sp., And Bruguiera sp.The forest is rich in various types of crabs, shrimp, mollusks and various types of seabirds such as seagulls, herons, sea doves, and sea cangak.
Types of algae present in this national park include Caulerpa sp., Halimeda sp., And Padina sp.Seagrass dominated mainly on the island of Montehage, and the island of Nain ie Thalassia hemprichii, Enhallus acoroides, and Thalassodendron ciliatum.
Recorded 13 coral genera live in the waters of Bunaken National Park, dominated by the type of coral reef edge and barrier reefs.The most interesting is the vertical cliffs as far as 25-50 meters.
Around 91 species of fish found in the waters of Bunaken National Park, including horse fish gusumi (Hippocampus horse), OCI white (Seriola rivoliana), lolosi yellowtail (Lutjanus kasmira), goropa (Ephinephelus spilotoceps Pseudanthias hypselosoma), ila trunk (Scolopsis bilineatus) , And and many others.Types of mollusks such as giant clams (Tridacna gigas), goat head (Cassis cornuta), hollowed nautilus (Nautilus pompillius), and tunikates / ascidian.
