The Great San Juanico Bridge of Tacloban City

Whenever I travel, time constraint has always my dilemma. If only i have all time in the world to sit at the beach and watch the sunset, I would love to do that.

San Juanico Bridge is part of the Pan-Philippine highway and streches from Samar to Leyte. Total length : 2,200m, Construction started: 1969, Height: 41 m, Opened: 1973, Bridge type: Truss bridge, 

Pag akoy namamasyal ang lagi kong kalaban ay oras. Kung nasa akin lang lahat ng oras sa mundo ang gusto ko lang gawin ay ang umupo sa gilid ng dagat at pagmasdan ang pag-lubog ng araw.

Ang San Juanico Bridge ay parte ng Pan-Philippine highway na nag-dudugtong sa Samar at Leyte. May haba itong: 2,200m, Sinumulan and pag gawa nito noong 1969, May taas na 41 m, binuksan ang tulay noong 1973, Truss bridge ang uri ng tulay na ito.

The  San Juanico Bridge connecting the provinces of Samar and Leyte is one of the monumental projects under former President Ferdinand Marcos administration. It is known the longest bridge in the Philippines it also attracted tourist because of the picturesque veiw it offers. The view was so beautiful especially with the effects that the setting sun gave to the place. There is also a tiny whirpools under the bridge.

Ang San Juanico Bridge na nag-dudugtong sa mga probinsya ng Samar at Leyteay isa sa mga pang-matagalang proyekto sa ilalim ng pamumuno ng nakalipas na Presidenteng Ferdinand Marcos. Kilala ito na pinaka-mahabang tulay sa boung pilipinas naakit din ang ibang mga torista sa tulay na ito dahil sa mala larawang paligid nito. Lalong gumaganda ang tanawin lalo na tuwing naanigan ng kulay ng paglubog ng araw ang lugar. Meron ding maliliit na puyo ng tubig sa ilalim ng tulay.

A visit to Tacloban would  truly never be complete if you wont get to be on this bridge which looks like a dragon from a far. It was also dubbed "The bridge of Love" as the late Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos dedicated to his wife Imelda Marcos who known as the "the rose of tacloban". It served as a birthday gift and testimonials of his love for her. Up to this day, the bridge remains to be the main gateway of Eastern Visayas. It has remain strong despite of its age.

Hindi kumpleto ang iyong pag-bisita sa Tacloban City kung hindi niyo napuntahan ang tulay na ito na mala dragon ang hugis kung titingnan sa mataas na lugar. Kilala din ito na " Tulay ng pagmamahal" dahil inalay ito ng namayapa ng  dating pangulo na si Ferdinand Marcos sa kanyang asawana si Imelda Marcos na kilalang " rosas ng tacloban". Nagsilbi din itong regalo at patunay ng kanyang pagmamahal sa asawa. Hanggang sa araw na ito nananatiling  pangunahing daanan ng Eastern Visayas. Nanatili din itong matibay sa kabila ng edad nito.
