Remembering When my only Daughter's Buwan ng Wika
My only daughter when she is only 4 years old. Their school celebrated the " Buwan Ng Wika" (Month Language). She is wearing the Igorot costume.
Ang aking nag-iisang anak na babae noong siya ay nasa 4 na taong gulang palamang. Ang kanilang paaralan ay nag diwang ng buwan ng wika. Siya ay naka suot ng Igorot costume.
"Igorot" is the modern term to describe the indigenous people who lives in the Cordillera Mountains located in the northern part of the Philippine island of Luzon. When first discovered by the Spaniards in the 16th century, they called them as "Ygolotes" - later to be re-spelled "Igorrotes."
Ang " Igorot" ay ang makabagong tawag sa mga katutubong mga tao na nakatira sa bundok ng Cordillera na nasa hilagang bahagi ng Pilipinas isla ng Luzon. Kung saan unang nadiskubre ng mga espanol noong ika-16 siglo, tinawag sila bilang "Ygolete" na naging "Igorrotes" kinalaunan.
