Definitely good to see some other divers around on steemit. I've just checked your page @marsella-2017 and followed you. I see your a commercial diver, that's a little scary for me ;) I am going to be posting lots of these dive trip blog posts if your interested follow me @raj808. I am purposefully writing them to be accessible to non divers as well, trying to avoid to much reference to procedure etc. Hoping to promote the sport and maybe inspire some new scuba enthusiasts. I shall read some of your articles as it gives me a good excuse to pick up my Spanish studies.
I always wanted to dive in the Red Sea. but I live in Venezuela and today it is impossible to leave the country, it has a bad economy and many political and financial problems. a severe social crisis.
That is a shame I hope things improve over there I have just been reading about the financial crisis and it looks like a real bad situation.
The red sea is my favorite place to dive, I recently went to Mexico and enjoyed my diving there but nothing has beaten the red sea for me yet, anything can (and usually does) happen in regards to spotting interesting marine life. I will be writing another series soon about a more recent trip to sharm el sheikh where I saw something amazing. Don't want to spoil the surprise of the post though ;-)
The interesting thing about the red sea is that there is a large fluctuation between water temperatures there with some of the hottest summer water temps in the world. Scientists have found that red sea coral is resisting bleaching as they think that millennia of evolution in the red sea environment with such high + low temperatures have allowed them to develop a mechanism to deal with the rising global warming. Scientists are looking at long term, maybe using Red seas coral genus to repopulate other reefs around the world. Early days from what I have read as they don't even know yet how red sea coral achieves this resistance but it gives me hope :)

I'm glad to meet you too, my friend, Jesus is my first (name) Marseille is my (surname) I am very happy about the idea of having a new friend in the UK, it is a pleasure Rowan, if you come to Venezuela you may never return to go to other places. here we have the best diving on the planet. especially in an archipelago that is called (the Witnesses) we also have places paradiciacos for the lovers of the diving. not to boast, but I tell you the truth. the water is warm. 21 ° - 24 ° crystalline waters with more than 20mt of visibility and varieties of Caribbean fish.
Sounds awesome Jesus. I've always wanted to travel south america but furthest I have got is central america, I went over border to Belize for a few days when travelling in the Yucatan peninsula in mexico. I have just done some google research and found some descriptions about Isla de Aves which it says is a critical nesting site for Green turtle. Is this island in 'the witness archipelago' or have I found a different reef? Green turtles are so close to my heart, if you read my third blog post (https://steemit.com/blog/@raj808/scuba-scribe-diving-the-red-sea-chasing-the-mermaid-3) it is about my first meeting with a green turtle but more recently I was in Tulum mexico (camped on the beach one night) when the turtles were coming to the beach to lay eggs and got involved with helping out marking sites so tourists don't disturb hatching area and also watching turtles at night with ultraviolet lights (which do not disturb them like normal torches) coming up the beach and digging nests and laying. It was amazing experience and I remember thinking I wish I could do this for a job or live somewhere like this permanently. If I strike it lucky rich with crypto-trading I might make it over to Venezuela for diving paradise :)
