Medellin's Funtastic Island Adventure (Throwback #1)

Hi Steemians! It's already summer in the Philippines but I never been to a summer destination this year. #TeamBahay (Bahay is a tagalog term for house/home). So, I thought that having a throwback post here in Steemit will do. I hope you'll like it!

Medellin is our hometown.

It's still in Cebu Philippines but we didn't go there often times because of lack of money. We can't let one just go in there, ALL OF US (family) must go in there. Haha. So yeah, every summer we always plan to go there together but there were also summers that we didn't went there for some reasons. Anyways, our house in there was along the seashore. We could do a lot of bonding with my cousins and their neighbors. It's really a warm vacation for us.

There's this island from a far but still can be seen from our house. They called it Medellin's "Funtastic Island". "I want to go there", I said to myself. There were a lot of plans that we will celebrate my cousin's birthday, or just hangout in there or whatever to celebrate but those were never been happened. Plans just remain as plans. I never had the chance to go there even if it just right in front of us. Never been. (Although, the picture below doesn't clearly show the island.)

Until one time, my boyfriend's family and relatives wanted to go to that Funtastic Island to have a small reunion, and they invited me! It was just "woah atlast!" response from me. (Thanks @dzued @theunlimited @maryblue @peculiarcrianca @blackelephant). Fortunately, my mama allowed me to go with them since there would be a lot of elders that would guide us. I was really excited and I just can't wait!

The day has finally come! From their hometown Borbon Cebu we ride a bus to go to Bogo City to bought some foods and things that will be needed. So from there, we ride a tricycle to go to the place where we can rent a boat to go to our final destination, the Funtastic Island!

When we're already in the boat, we take pictures. Selfies. Groupies. Yeah normal things during travels. I was scared a little bit when we were far away from the shore and still too far to the island. The waves were big but not too big to eat our boat haha thanks God! Actually, I didn't expect that the waves in there was big because when were in the shore it's just so calming. Still I'm grateful that it's just the "normal waves" said by the fishermen or the ones that guided us.

When we finally arrived to the place that I've been wanted to go, I can't helped to be amazed. Everything seems natural. The rocks, trees, surroundings and the people. The island was really a peaceful place away from the noise in the city. We didn't waste a time and started to get a cottage and place our things. After we ate, we atlast swim and swim and swim. The water was so cold but it's also warming ourselves from the stress that we've been thinking of. Such a comfort and a stress reliever.

There were cliffs in the island and I want to jump from it and land in the water but I am afraid. But no! I don't when will I be going back there so I must grab the chance. I chose the not-so-low cliff hahaha. Actually, I don't know how to swim or let's say I'm afraid of being drown to the open sea like there. So my boyfriend and his cousins are watching me as I jumped and they gave me a thing to help me float. The experience was great! So I jumped for the second time haha.

But there's this very very high cliff that some boys were enjoying jumping from there. I was curious and wanted to do so but nah-uh I'm afraid to die not because I will possibly hit my head from the stone below the water but from my nervousness. So I think a picture from that cliff will do hahaha although one of my boyfriend's cousins jumped there, she's actually @peculiarcrianca
