Nice post. It makes me recall the times I went to those beautiful gardens. They were created around the time that I arrived in Singapore (2012). In total, Gardens by the Bay covers over 100 hectares, and it's all built on reclaimed land. (That is, the area was part of the sea until Singapore dumped all that landfill there.)

The great thing is that these gardens are so close to the "downtown" area. Singapore could have used the reclaimed land exclusively for buildings (which would have been lucrative), but instead it created these massive, beautiful gardens there. Truly remarkable and very commendable.

The SuperTrees are amazing. They are massive trellises that not only support plant life, but also collect rainwater (they are shaped kinda like a large funnel ... and like a tree :-) ) and apparently they also contain solar panels.
