Recreational time
All of us need to unwind, do something different, something out of routine from time to time. It is important for our bodies, minds and spirits to relax and spend time away from work, and to connect with family and friends. I found that the best way to do this is to spend time in the nature.
No matter the season, spending time somewhere out has so many benefits for our total well-being. Even though I like to visit new places, sometimes it's not possible to travel far, so I try to look for nice places to go to that are close to home. One of these places it's a fishery placed in a beautiful surrounding, called Mara. This is located in Maramures, Romania, the area we call home. It has a few beautiful ponds, full of trout, that you can eat cooked in different ways, but the one way my husband and I love the most is fried in corn flour, with fries and a garlic sauce. Just delicious!
This place is built in a rustic architecture, to highlight the traditions of the area. Maramures is an area with rich Romanian traditions. One of these traditions is the hanging of new and old colorful pots in a pole or even in a tree, to show to people that in that house there are young ladies ready for marriage. I think nowadays it's done just to preserve this custom, nobody really goes to those houses and proposes to the unmarried women.
