Nampo-dong’s Eatery Alley 'Meokja Golmok' Market (남포동 먹자골목 시장)

I went to visit the Nampo-dong Street Market in Busan, and I was so full by the time I finished touring around the market even though I walked around all day.

Chungmu Kimbap (충무김밥)

Chungmu Kimbap is seaweed rice rolls made with only rice. It is not seasoned unlike the regular Korean rolls. But, you eat it with side dishes of sliced squid seasoned with spicy red pepper sauce and radish kimchi.

Chungmu kimbap street (충무김밥거리)

Interestingly enough, an entire street is full of the elder Korean ladies selling the exact same type of food. You would think that they will just have a few places. I guess it is so popular that having competitions doesn’t really matter. Anyway, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Korean ladies making Korean pancake

They were so delicious! It’s a must try when you go to a market place in Korea. Since they were cooking it right on the spot, it was more so flavorful! Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside!

¡Eran tan deliciosos!

Twisted Korean Donuts (이가꽈배기)

Giant Korean style twsited donuts sprinkled with sugar!! They are sticks of pastry made from braided wheat or glutinous rice flour dough deep-fried in oil. It was only 2000 krw, which is equivalent to about 2 USD. Even though I had to wait in line to try it, it was totally worth it. You’ve got to try it!

Steamed potatoes (찐감자)

We took the steamed potatoes to go to snack on it later!

Homemade Pre-made Pork Cutlet 'Donkatsu' for 1500 KRW (1500

We also got some pork cutlet to go. They are pre-made, and all you need to do is just pan-fried it. I was so full that day that I thought that my belly was going to burst. Just to give you a heads up, make sure to go with an empty stomach if you plan on visiting Nampodong. See you in the next posting!
