in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Quickly compare costs of living in other parts of the world. If you're a traveler or someone who is thinking about moving to a different city or country, there's a great website you have to check out called Numbeo

Numbeo is the world’s largest database of user contributed data about cities and countries worldwide. Numbeo provides current and timely information on world living conditions including cost of living, housing indicators, health care, traffic, crime and pollution. credit

You can type in a city and see the prices and costs of things like meals, rent, hotels, gas, cigarettes, milk, and hundreds of other items in that area.

You can also choose what currency to see the prices in.

Here's a screenshot for Play Del Carmen, Mexico, where I'll be moving to soon. It's shown in US dollars.

I have found it very accurate and helpful and I'm sure you will too.

I have used that site a few times-- it's very useful! I like especially that much of the data is based on reports and additions by "real people," not just data collected from some government or Chamber of Commerce web site.

Yes, the data is compiled by real people in real time. You can even see how many people entered info on a price, the high, low and average price, the number of entries and the last date it was updated, so, it's pretty accurate.

I'm a big fan of cheap as chips Poland, so I'll check it out. Quality post @luzcypher

Glad you found it helpful.

this is a great site to see what you need when you travel or moving thanks!

Thanks for taking a look

Damn, it's $15 for a movie ticket in NYC -- $20 for IMAX!!!

The movies in Cancun have lazy boy chairs so comfortable, with your own side table and lamp. The chair has a button to push that will call a waiter to order, snacks, sushi bar and a full-service bar that serves booze, beer, and wine.

Oh, that's nice -- rub it in... :))
