The Hallerbos forest is best visited in the months of April and May, when the forests famous bluebells are in full bloom. The forest covers 5.35 square kilometres of space, with much of that space being protected as a reserve. The forest is home to species of fox, hare, deer, rabbit and polecat. The forest has tracks for cyclists, hikers, and horse riders, and there is also a Hallerbos museum. In addition to bluebells, other wild flower species can be found, including golden saxifrage, spiked rampion, and wild orchid.
