Bohol - A place to remember -Travel Blog

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Hello dear steemians, its been a while since i posted something, have been very busy with work!

A couple of years ago I visited Bohol, I visit the philippines more often since my girlfriend is originally from there, so expect more reviews from other islands in the future! (there are 7641 islands so i guess i still have many to visit !!)

Bohol has beautiful beaches but so much more then that, it has historical places to see also like St Peter's Church, I was at bohol a few months befor the earthquake in 2013 and i believe they are still busy reconstructing the church since it was damaged pretty badly. Hopefully people can visit it soon again cos its a beautiful place.

Bohol is a great Island to discover by scooter or motorbike, it isnt that big and you will be able to tour around the Island and see all the things you like in just a couple of days. Compared to other islands and also compared to other asian countries, traffic wasnt that hectic and overall pretty safe, so no worries about that!

A place you shouldnt miss is Chocolatte hills....a surprising side you wont expect on an Island like Bohol, more then 1000 hills in a relatively small area that in the dry months become brown and look like chocolatte hills. When i was there they were green, still a fenomenal sigth!

On that same trip you could visit the butterfly gardens and spot the tarsier, a super cute animal that can only be seen on a few asian islands (I believe you can see them in Indonesia and Malaysia also) Unbelievable cute, wish i could have taken it home :-)

To be honest, i enjoyed the inlands more then the beaches (im spoiled....have seen too many of them), ricefields, forrest, the awesome hills and cute little towns with very friendly people. Dont be lazy all the time and rent that scooter!

We stayed at the Peacock Garden hotel, pretty luxurious for my taste but a great choice after all. The kitchen was very good, the pool was amazing and it had a great spa and many other facilities.
The hotel is not at the beach, like i said befor, im a little spoiled and have seen many beaches in my life, this time we choose for good food and a good bed.

Conclusion: Bohol is a great place to visit, very nice beaches although i have seen better in philippines (soon a post about Palawan, THE place to go for nice beaches) But if you like activities, driving around and be active, go to Bohol cos you will like it!

Hope you enjoyed my blog, please be so kind to upvote and share it, so i didnt only write this to keep my memories fresh!

Thank you for your time!
