Visit witch city!

Salem, MA - a little bit of American east coast history – is just located up north of Boston. I was visiting friends living nearby so I jumped on the chance to visit the city and experience the history first hand and I thought I could share it here.

The city preserved the old flair from back when it was founded in the 17th century by restoring and up keeping architectures and landmarks giving it a very homey feeling. The nice, little city centre is filled with witch shops and tarot card readers.

The so called witch house, a house owned by the witch trials judge Jonathan Corwin, now turned into a museum.

The witch trials memorial remembering men and women accused of witchcraft, found guilty and hanged back in 1692.

As much as I like good witch and ghost stories that’s not all that Salem is about. A short walk down to the marina shows a different part of the cities’ history. The House of the seven gables, the actual house that was the inspiration for the novel << The house of the seven gables >> and the Salem Maritime national historic site show a different side of this seaside town.

As someone who lives around Boston, Salem has a ton of history and is with in driving distance of a bunch of other sites of historical importance. Like Walden pond ( where Henry David thorough wrote the book of the same name.) Nice post, captures the essence of Salem. Nice harbor views with creepy witch houses. :)

Are there any witches still living there? :)

I'm on the look out... so far not ;-)
