I watched the Nelson Mandela biography titled "Madiba" played by Laurence Fishburne. There were a lot of scenes where I thought how on earth people can be so aggressive and bad, but the scene of open fire at the funeral was very shocking.

Unbelievable that these events actually happened. And also quite recent even. It is difficult to find the right words in order to describe feelings with such events. In the end we all try to live in this already tough world, why can't we live the way we want right?

It is frustrating to see how power & financial gains can drive people so far that they don't have any limits any more.

I heard a lot about South Africa not being very safe to travel to nowadays. Reading your experiences also somewhat confirms it. Maybe one day, when it's more peaceful I can make it to go and see these places myself.
