Digital nomad couple writes about slow travel & a location independent lifestyle

Greetings Steemit!

We’re Alina (28) & Deian (28), two digital nomads enjoying a location independent life. Many years ago, when we travelled for the first time together, we immediately knew that we were destined to do this full-time.

At this moment, we’re in Athens, enjoying the nice weather, friendly people and the great nature the Greek capital has to offer. In the photo above, you can see us standing on top of Hymettus Mountain. Actually, our super cool Airbnb host brought us up here — big shout-out to him👏.

About Alina & Deian

So, who are we, really? To keep it short and simple, which is actually our preferred method of writing articles (KISS), we were both born in Romania; Deian, however, grew up in Germany. He moved back to Romania, dropped out of university and became a freelance copywriter. Many years later, he met Alina — and they fell in love😍.

Fast-forward to today, we’re both working as copywriters 💻 while onebagging🎒 the world. Alina is focusing her energy on our pet-project lifesimply.rocks while she also organises our travels and cooks tasty meals. Deian, on the other hand, writes articles for his clients, mostly in German.

The purpose of lifesimply.rocks

In 2016, we started to develop our blog lifesimply.rocks with the purpose to write about our life without transforming it into a product. That is why you won’t see intrusive ads or affiliate links on our website🚫. Actually, we got rid of all Amazon links; the only affiliate links point to Airbnb (giving our readers credit if they decide to sign up).

We also operate fully transparent, pointing out any affiliate link and ads we might serve. For example, when we receive download codes (games or software), we mention in the beginning and the end of the article that it contains an ad. Even if we don’t get paid to write the article, we still feel that it’s necessary to be open about any benefits we received.

Lifesimply.rocks is and always will be a blog about us; we’re concentrating our energy on the following topics:

• travel stories
• digital nomad resources
• Airbnb tips
• gaming on the go
• food guides

We might also write about concerts and other events we visit in the future.

The difference between our project and other blogs is the fact that it’s available in three languages:

1. English🇬🇧
2. German🇩🇪
3. Romanian🇷🇴

It takes a lot of time and effort to offer every article in three languages because we don’t just translate our stories; they always have to be adapted to the audience.

Meeting friends and spending time with locals

Thanks to our travels, we met a lot of cool people along the way who shared their life stories with us; some of them are digital nomads like us, others are expats or simply locals. We love to meet new people, whatever they do or however they live✌️.

If you take a look at our travel blog, you’ll notice that we like to spend our time trying to live like a local. Usually, we don’t visit the typical tourist areas or don’t spend too much time there. We always ask the people we meet for insider tips.

How many people do you know that visited the mountain Hymettus in Athens?

Probably not that many. As we said, our Airbnb host took us there because we share a common hobby: Hiking. So, one day, he said🗣:

Are you guys free to go hiking? It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes because I’m a bit busy today.

Well, the 30-minute hike turned into a 2.5 hours walk because he spontaneously decided to go all the way to the top. It was a really cool experience.
