After spending an hour in Maid cafe in Akihabara, I feel I should write a review for my friends that are unsure of this restaurant.

I believe it's a chance that you may or may not have an experience here, it's a chance you have to take. This is mostly aimed towards local, pure Japanese and may seem awkward at first for any non-Japanese.

The Maid Waitresses were very nice and polite, they act very (cute) and they provide a great service.

However, I've noticed that most of the Maid waitresses DO NOT speak English. I've seen one Caucasian female that spoke English but if you do not speak Japanese don't expect the full package that you paid for unless you know the schedule of the specific Maids that speak English.

It was very difficult to get the message across with my broken Japanese, I had to do a lot of translating with my Google Translate App.

If there are no Maid on-site that speaks English, more than likely you will only get your food and drink and if you're lucky, you might see them dance. They will most likely not come to you for a conversation or a game because they barely speak any English at all.

I do not blame them for not having a conversation with me or play a simple game with me, it's simply language difference and there's nothing you can do but to improve your Japanese.

For local Japanese, it looks like each of them are having a blast staying here and it's like a place for them to relax and talk to beautiful girls after work. They get really into it if you take notice.

The minimum cost is around 2000 Yen (JPY), be prepared for at least that much for your hour stay in here. There is an entrance fee and you must purchase at least 1 drink to stay here for the hour.

In conclusion, I recommend it if you are travelling solo or if you have nowhere else to go, you can give this restaurant a shot. But if you have other plans or have a hard time coming to Akihabara, no need to go out of your way for this restaurant.
