Cocos Island

This remote island had been a family escape from the world for us for years. Whenever we get too caught up or stressed in the grind we boat or kayak over and just camp for days, forgetting everything but the sounds of the birds and the waves lapping the shores.

Fairie terns, noddy birds, exotic plants and butterflies galore call this peaceful rock home and leave us making songs around the fire about them before we head off to dreamland. Our sleep won't top the reality we had in the days here....but we hope in the singing these wild friends of the forest will meet us in our dreams and bring this peace back to us when we find our way back home again.

The views looking out toward the aqua sea and the mainland beyond this place always take my breath away from our jungle camp under the swaying canopy.

Touring around the island by kayak is always fun~ spotting turtles dodging around the reef and eagle rays spreading their wings through the aqua waters. There's noting like an island adventure especially when one can greet you with only wild inhabitants. I love being an explorer!
