It's quite a long way from Machu Picchu. It's in the city of Trujillo in the north of Peru. There are direct, 2 hour, flights from Cusco every Tuesday and Thursday with Latam, I think. It's only a 1 hour flight from Lima, or you can do an overnight bus journey.
Right on man, can't wait for the opportunity to spend some time in Peru!
