The RV project

My husband and I bought a motor home last year. We didn't have a lot of cash to buy a new one, but we wanted something nice with good "bones". We settled on a 1995 Fleetwood that needed new floors (which we can do ourselves) and paint and a bit of updating. We have taken care of all the mechanical issues and now it's down to the cosmetics.

We plan to sand down the cabinets and paint them white. All the carpet is coming out and new floors. We still haven't decided on wood or vinyl. Wood is beautiful, but it's heavy and that's a consideration in an RV. All the window shades will be replaced with day/night shades. All the window treatments are being recovered and some parts painted.

There were very old TVs in the front and in the bedroom. We've already removed those and will be replacing them with LED screens, which will require some modifications to the cabinets. There are numerous videos on the internet that have been helpful in leaarning how to fix every situation we have come across.

This is our retirement project, but it is already in good enough shape to take it on trips. For now they will be short trip. One day drive type of trips. There is a waterfall not far from us where we like to spend time. It's the time of year for campfires and hot cocoa and toasted marshmallows.

You post, I will read, here is one vote. Best.

We are at the boring part of sanding and getting ready to paint. I'll take some pictures halfway through the process.

Vinyl planks are great for the floor. I'm redoing mine with this now.
