6 Safe Places for Women to travel alone
1. New Zealand
New Zealand is a wonderful place to start your solo trips. If you love the outdoors and nature with vast landscapes you can be assured that you’ll enjoy this paradise. Marketed as “clean, green”, New Zealand has been true to its word with several nature destinations such as the Milford Sound which has been one of the most visited destinations in New Zealand. If you want the city then go to Auckland otherwise known as “City of the Sails”, there you may visit the Sky Tower.
2. Denmark
Next stop is Copenhagen, Denmark. The city itself boasts of beautiful architecture. Be sure not to miss out on Tivoli Gardens which was an inspiration behind the world-famous Disney theme parks. Take a 10-minute stroll from Tivoli Gardens and you will be held to the National Museum which tells you about Danish history and culture. Considering the city is large with almost 2 million people in the metro, it is also amazing to know that Denmark has low crime rates compared to other European capitals. However, it is still your responsibility to keep an eye on your wallets and purses.
3. Ireland
Ireland is ranked 13th on safety. With a vast network of bed & breakfasts, solo traveling to Ireland is easy. When you get there you may visit Dublin and the East for more of Ireland’s history, architecture and culture.
Go to the West, if you love a wild landscape relatively untouched by development with archaeological wonders – visit the West. (The Burren with the ancient Poulnabrone dolmen). The South has beautiful coastlines, castles, formal gardens, and the second largest city- Cork. The North has the hills of Donegal (one could spend a week here and never run out of things to see) and the wonderful counties of Northern Ireland – Fermanagh with its scenic lakes and megalithic monuments.
4. Iceland
Now, set a plan to tour on Iceland and dig deep into it’s beauty. For a heads up, Iceland is one of Europe’s most expensive countries but wait till you experience it. Iceland is ranked #1 safest country! It’s an easy country for single travelers to feel comfortable in. The capital city of Reykjavik makes a fine base for excursions to swim outdoors at the Blue Lagoon or to ride Icelandic horses across some of the most rugged terrain on earth.
5. Australia
Just like New Zealand, Australia one of the most backpacker friendly places. There are with hundreds of hostels across both countries and locals are warm and friendly. You’ll easily bump into other backpackers leaving you with travel buddies along the way. When you get there don’t forget to check out these
6. Vietnam
After Thailand, Vietnam has been acknowledged as the most female-friendly travel destination in Southeast Asia. Vietnamese people get curious when they see tourists traveling alone so they easily lend a helping hand. What’s good about Asian culture is their warm welcome and willingness to tour travelers around. There is an organization in Vietnam that involves young kids to show you around the city. The Hanoi Kids will tour you around free of charge, in exchange of them practicing their English speaking skills. Traveling to Vietnam is also very cheap and will let you leave the country rich with its culture, traditions and experiences.
Yay!!! New Zealand is the place I want to go. Good to know I'm safe to go alone there too :D
