When you hear the word Canada do you think "wine country"?
Perhaps a hidden gem, the wine region in the South Okanagan of British Columbia Canada is absolutely beautiful!
Did you know Canada has delicious wines?
Although the belief that Canadians live in igloos is fleeting with the wide spread use of the internet a lot of people don't realize how diverse the Canadian landscape is. In fact I have not even caught a glimpse of Canadas vastness and I am a well travelled
citizen of this beautiful country. As far as scenery goes I would say the Okanagan Valley is the most beautiful place in Canada and one of the most beautiful places in the whole world!
YES that is right I am saying I live where you vacation!
Now back to the wine...
This industry is booming! There is over 200 vineyards growing throughout the valley and over 120 wineries producing wine. The further south you go the warmer it gets and the better the reds get. Wine is not only a treat for our tourism industry in the summer, but a destination for our visitors.

Comments appreciated ❤️
I've been to many parts of canada but I don't think wine country normally. It's nice you pointed this out to me :)
Normally I think of weed country lol
Lol yessss, especially the west where I am located. BC Bud is a thing all over the world, we have been working on perfecting it for years and years and years! Apparently its pretty good.
However we have a new up and comer, WINE!
Ehh,,, It was ok. The strain is actually called Americano lol cause it was developed to sell to American tourists lol. Grows super fast, produces heavy and is higher quality than some. Down here it was called Beasters. It was heady but lowest form of heady. Unfortunately almost never grown organically so didnt smoke to well, was basically a production, or mainstream, strain. Definitely the most wide spread strain in the world i would say. Not that I know anything about that hrmph... Just what i've heard of course.
I've been through BC and the whole west coast of canada on my way to Alaska twice now.
I can't wait to see what they do with wine! My next trip up there maybe that is what I will look for.
:)
Well I have heard that the mainstream stuff is not the stuff to go with. I know some friends in the medicinal world who are working on a Girl Scout Cookie which is apparently really good. They got the strain from San Diego sooooo its not BC originated but BC grown for sure. Its said to have a sweet and earthy taste and is a 40:60 Sativa to Indica ratio!
Recently I learnt about the difference between sativa and indica, depending on whether you want to be up and about or laying around eating chips lol I was actually shocked to learn how many different strains there were and how they were all so categorized. Such an interesting industry.
All that being said my true love is for wine <3
You could go inland a bit and check out the wineries, drive thru the Oroville boarder and do some good ol Canadian wine touring!
PS I would love to check out Alaska one day! So hard to go somewhere cold (Iceland thus far has been my only cold vacation, well maybe Ireland too) Im a heat seeker!
haha, yea. Girl Scout Cookies were all the rage with my fam in the triangle few years back. Great strain.
I got into wine for a while while I was bootleggin for a couple years. Nearly started a winery so wine used to be a passion for me also.
I've been to Alaska, both summer and winter. If you are afraid of the cold go in summer, it's plenty warm. If you like nature, it is some of the most beautiful you will ever experience. If its the Northern Lights you want to see, your only choice is winter. Don't ever let anyone talk you out of it though, it's crazy worth it!
What is the triangle?
Yes Alaska is now on my bucket list and it sounds like I need to experience both summer and winter. I saw the northern lights in Iceland last year around this time and it was amazing. I sometimes see them here but it was not comparable in the least to whatI saw in Iceland, they were bright and colourful and dancing all over the sky and then they were gone. IT was amazing!
The Emerald Triangle in Northern California is the mecca for weed in the US.
I would love to see the lights in Iceland, from what I understand you get more color. In Alaska it is mostly green until very late in winter when pink and blue come in but still mostly green. I did however get to see some pink and blue :)
Ahhh makes sense, Northern Cali :)
Yes there were primarily green but there were other colours for sure! So amazing, I want to see them again soon.
When I think of Canada, I think of maple leaf, its amazing place some day I would love to meet , I think they have beautiful landscapes and great places, excellent photos my friend, you're so beautiful as ever, thanks for sharing @kylaki I invite you to take a look at my most recent post, I have uploaded a new challenge, I hope you like it, greetings have a good day, a big hug for you! :)
The Maple leaf! So Canadian its on our flag, its the tree from which we get our delicious syrup, its very Canadian. The landscapes in Canada are so diverse, even within our province and its undeniable that Canada is a beautiful country.
