THE DESSERT MUSEUM

Sweets Overload
"DONUT JUDGE OUR DIET"

Hello, fellow Steemians! Here's another edition of my travel blog during my stay in Manila for the past few weeks for something important last April. After all the busy hours during the day, I get to have all the luxury to spend more bonding time with my family in the afternoon during their impromptu vacation in Manila last April 25 to 28. They originally planned on going to Kidzania because I have younger cousins who really love to play but since my grandmother saw The Dessert Museum being featured on Magandang Buhay, a local TV show on ABS-CBN, and my aunt and I wanted to experience it first hand, we decided to go there.

How to get there?

To get there, it's easier if you're at Mall of Asia. You can walk from MOA going to the most left corner of the bay side, which was what we did. It was a 5-7 minute walk from MOA to Conrad Hotel Manila. Dessert Museum is found inside Conrad Hotel and the picture shown above is the gallery's entrance.

How much is the ticket?

Basically, their walk-in's rate is at 799 Philippine pesos per head. Fortunately, before we went there, I researched about the place and I saw their website. In there, it's decidedly recommendable that you book your tickets ahead of time before going there to avail of their discount. From a regular rate of 799, it will only be at 699 Philippine pesos and a discounted price of 599 for students with their ID's.

NOTE: Students must bring their ID's with them to show it to the receptionist. If no ID's presented, you'll be asked to pay 100 pesos.

How about the viewing times?

They open at 10 in the morning and closes at 10 in the evening every day but their last schedule of accepting visitors is at 8 PM. You can actually stay there from an hour up to 2 hours. On the online booking, you get to choose which time you'll be going there. In our case, we originally chose 8 in the evening. We got to the place at 7:30. The receptionist said that we can go inside by 7:45 so she adjusted our time to the earliest possible free time.

What's in Dessert Museum?

The Dessert museum opened it's doors to the public last February this year at S Maison Hall, Conrad Hotel Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. It is a pop-up museum that has 8 instagrammable dessert-themed rooms for you to enjoy.

When you get to enter the premises, you'll be welcomed in their reception area.

The big donut is the entrance to the first room and yes, they're my relatives.

You'll be asked with your booking and once it's all processed, you will be given blue armbands. These bracelets will serve as your ticket to your free goodies in every room. Then you have to wait for your tour guide before you can start your adventure.

NOTE: Always make sure that you get to wear your armband while inside the museum.

1. DONUT ROOM

IMG_20180426_202620.jpg

The tour starts by sliding through the big donut hole from the reception area or you can walk through the steps on the side. You will be seeing hundreds of pink and sprinkled hard donuts, they're not soft guys, so be careful, hanging from the ceiling.

Unfortunately, there were no free snacks for this particular room.

2. MARSHMALLOW ROOM

IMG_20180426_195159.jpg

From the Donut room, you'll be making your way through Marshmallow rolling doors. (Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture it.) The second room is more like the donuts but the ones hanging are white marshmallows, like the ones on the picture.

TOP: There were three fondues available, strawberry, white chocolate, and the purple one, (which I forgot to ask what flavor was that).

Luckily, we had our first snack in this room. The armbands given earlier were scanned through their sensor and you'll be asked which fondue you would like for your large marshmallow.

You only get to choose one fondue and the staff is the one who'll be rolling your marshmallows.

3. NAUGHTY OR NICE ROOM

IMG_20180426_203817.jpg

In the marshmallow room, you get to choose from two doors that will lead you to the room as shown above. One door goes through pink-colored candy canes while the other one is blue.

On the Pink side, there's a section where shelves are filled with colorful balls placed inside plastic jars, others were hanged from the ceiling.

While on the blue side, two ropes are hanging from the ceiling where you can do the word behind me, jump.

Aside from the seesaw you saw earlier, this room also has two swings that you can play with,

and a section full of heart boxes and a large replica of a lip (TOP).

This room will offer you pink and blue French Macarons. Since I love Pink, I ate the pink one.

4. ICE CREAM ROOM

IMG_20180426_202620.jpg

Up next is the most fun room for me. When you get inside this room, you'll be playing in a colorful ball pit, like the balls shown earlier. My cousins and I thrown balls at each other but after a while, we were told that it was not allowed.

As it is an ice cream room, decorations in this room are all about ice cream, cones, and balloons.

YES! The free snack you'll be getting in this room is no other than an ice cream. They had Ube, Avocado, and Mango for their ice cream flavors and the one I ate was Avocado, which was incredibly delicious.

5. GUMBALL ROOM

IMG_20180426_210529.jpg

IMG_20180426_202642.jpg

For this time, we didn't have any snacks in this room.

In order to go inside the next room, you will cross a door with pink garters as shown on the right picture.

Once you enter this room, it has a huge gumball machine that people can literally play inside it. My cousins went in while the adults just watched them on the side. While they were playing, I went around this room and saw a few big bubble rings where people can stand and be inside a large bubble.

6. GUMMY BEARS ROOM

IMG_20180426_211410.jpg

The gummy bear's room is a room that has 5 life-sized inflatable bears with small sized inflatable bears hanging from the ceiling. It also has 2 trampolines that you can jump on and three tubs filled with plastic gummy bears and balls.

IMG_20180426_203425.jpg

Since it's a gummy bear room, you'll have 5 pieces of gummy bears for a treat.

7. COTTON CANDY ROOM

IMG_20180426_212149.jpg

IMG_20180426_211911.jpg

This room is filled with pink cotton candy trees and clouds, and a cotton candy machine in the middle. For the snacks? What else can you have? Of course, no other than a cotton candy!

8. CAKE POPS ROOM

IMG_20180426_212558_1.jpg

This is the last dessert room in the museum. They have cake pops hanging and you can do a wrecking ball performance if you want to. On the opposite side of the room are three hoops where you can play with your family and friends.

This was the wrecking ball pose I did that my aunt took for me.

IMG_20180426_204639.jpg

This is found on the two sides of the walls of this room. It has a rainbow-colored theme with cake pops stuck unto the rings.

If you'll ask, you'll be having a piece of a yummy chocolate cake pop and after scanning, your bracelets will be collected by the staff.

When you exit the last room, you'll be lead to a souvenir shop. You can buy lots of goodies in there and buy some souvenirs of your visit to the museum. Below were some of the things that you can buy there.
