SUMMER in the Philippines? The perfect place to be.. | keynaynTravels | Travel Blog #1
Hello summer!
Got your summer bodies ready?
As early as March, summer season starts in the Philippines. With over 7,600+ islands, you will never run out of places to go. From different mountains to beaches, to falls, or hot and cold springs, name it all, the Philippines have it. All you got to do is to book a ticket, do some research and plan your trip ahead to make the most out of your visit and of course, don't forget to have your pockets ready.
If you have read my introductory post, I shared how I love to travel and explore different places in the Philippines and hopefully be able to wander overseas. Since I'm also a thalassophile, a lover of the sea, here in this blog, I will be sharing to you some of the beaches I have visited in my beloved country.
Luzon Area
Buntod Reef and Marine Sanctuary, Masbate City
A white sandbar in Masbate City is a 10-15 minutes boat ride from the city. During my visit, last November 2017, me and my friends Joyce and KC had the whole island for ourselves. 2 cottages are on the island to accommodate visitors and tourists. They offer a lot of activities which includes kayaking, snorkeling, and diving because aside from being an islet, it's also a protected marine sanctuary.
Palani Beach Villas, Balud, Masbate City
Palani is a two-hour drive from the city. It's a resort with an affordable price with a palm-fringed beach stretching for miles. They offer accommodations from single to a dormitory type of room and cabanas along the beach.
Visayas Area
Oslob Whale Shark Watching, Cebu City
I experienced this adventure last January 2017 with my college classmate, Edelweiss, and I was really in awe to see such an enormous creature. You will be oriented first with all the instructions of the do's and don't's when you get to encounter these gentle giants and one of which is that you're not allowed to wear sunscreen. You're only allowed to come near them at a distance and most definitely, you're not granted to touch them. This trip is a 3-4 hour ride from Cebu City on a bus to get there as early as 6 AM to secure a slot in whale watching.
Bas Daku (Big Sand), Moalboal, Cebu
Moalboal is known for its white-sandy beaches. It has a vast shore where you can set up your tents if you do not wish to spend for a room. At night, it is a magnificent place to go stargazing.
Mindanao Area
Mati, Davao Oriental
Mati, known as one of the skimboarding and surfing sites in the Philippines, is one of the memorable places I have explored. Locals offer an affordable price if you want to learn skimboarding. You can spend the night in a tent if you don't want to stay in a room.
Gumasa Glan, Sarangani Province
Gumasa is an hour drive from General Santos City. One of the biggest beach parties in the Philippines happens here every summer, the *Sarangani Bay Festival*, which is a 3-4 days event of partying, camping, and more activities organized by their tourism and supported by the local government.
Cagwait Beach, Surigao del Sur
One of the public beaches in Surigao del Sur. They have huts for you to stay and have a good view of the Pacific Ocean.
Bucas Grande Islands, Sohoton, Surigao del Norte
Sohoton is a group of islands found in Surigao del Norte. There are attractions in some of the islands. We were not able to witness the abundant stingless jellyfish because it was out of season and they said summer was the perfect time to see them.
Laswitan Lagoon, Cortes, Surigao del Sur
Laswit, a splash of the ocean, is an hour drive from Tandag, Surigao del Sur. It has a lagoon where visitors can swim while the ocean hugs the rock formations that surround it making it look like a falls. You can also do cliff jumping on the other side of the lagoon.
Lemlunay Resort, Sarangani Province
Lemlunay offers an entrance fee that is consumable. You can either use it to swim in their infinity pool or eat in their restaurant. They also provide scuba diving lessons and find Nemo in their sanctuary.
Libtong Cove, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur
An hour and a half drive from Tandag, and a 15-minute pump boat ride will bring you to this hidden attraction and a perfect getaway with your family and friends in the northern part of Surigao del Sur. The place offers activities for the daring and adventurous. They got two diving boards, kayaks, and paddleboards.
Pearl Farm Resort, Samal Island, Davao
Pearl Farm is one of the best resorts in the Philippines. They offer first-rate services and sumptuous buffet varying from English to Asian menu. You can also do snorkeling since they are a protected sanctuary too.
I don't care if I get dark. The beach helps me calm down when I have so much in my mind. It regenerates my soul and keeps me at peace of mind. I'll never stop chasing for beaches. I'll always love the sea because I have that inner Moana in me.
How about you? Are you ready to have your sun-kissed skin? Don't forget to use sunscreens!
P.S.
If you want to ask queries about the places I've been, don't hesitate to comment down below and resteem this to your friends. Add them too in your bucket list!
