Hyena…..Fancy a nibble?

While I was living in Ethiopia I heard about this fascinating city to the east call Harar. Apparently once one of the major commercial centers for the region boasting a labyrinth of streets encircled by a decaying city wall. It is truly a step back in time.

One of the biggest attractions you will find here and one that your travel insurance probably doesn’t cover is a trip to see the Hyena man.

To do this involves jumping into a taxi with a guide in the middle of the night who then drives you into the backend of beyond. Your then greeted by the hyena man carrying a basket of meat and a short stick. Trust me when I say the hyena’s were many….
