Longest labyrinth in the world!
The Longleat Maze is located in the garden of a villa in Longleat, close to the Horningsham village in England. Designed and opened in 1975, this labyrinth consists of 16,000 English hedges and the total length of the track is as high as 2.72 km. The hedges in the maze is about 2.5 meters high and it winds with six elevated bridges and a central watchtower. Hedge regulates six gardeners which needs at least a month to cut fence and this process is repeated every 6 months. But cutting and editing the hedge is only half the problem. The real challenge for gardeners is navigation, especially for new workers who are often lost.
The maze is so complex that visitors sometimes walk through it for hours. For those who can not find a way out in the labyrinth, there are security panels to help them ask for help and ask staff to come to them. Some visitors are cheating with modern technology , they use mobile phones and google maps to get the quickest way through maze. In addition to the labyrinth, there is an enormous safari park in the same estate where there is over 500 exotic animals.
