A lot more to be done in that area if hiking is not your thing. Cycling, rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed (super fun stuff, you should google it you haven't heard of it yet).
Or you could just chill out and take in the sights, beer and wine is quite cheap in Slovenia :)
I think I would enjoy hiking it definitely looks fun :) Oh and the other stuff sounds excellent will need to check what Hydrospeed is I don't think I have heard of that but also sounds thrilling!!!
Oh cheap beer and wine maybe reward yourself with one of them after the hike
