Notre Dame Cathedral looking very gothic - Paris
Photos of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris that are taken of the front with its two impressive towers are probably the most recognisable of this famous Gothic church, and as you can tell from this image, it is still a very popular tourist attraction in the city, both for those on holiday as we were and also for those on a pilgrimage, and in fact, Notre Dame de Paris has over 13 million visitors every year
Here you can see a high definition photo of Notre Dame Cathedral that we took from a bridge over the River Seine, and in this image you can see parts of the East and South sides, the south being closest to the river bank with the trees, plus you can see the spire that was designed by Violet Le Duc in the 1800s and the famous flying buttress supports that just add to this impressive gothic architecture
On a lovely day as we were walking through the Square Jean XXIII we took this photo of the Notre Dame Cathedral showing the amazing and incredibly large South Rose window, along with some of the flying buttress supports, which was a major innovation in its time, especially considering that this monument was celebrating 850 years in 2013
Just walking along the banks of the River Seine can provide some fantastic views of the Notre Dame Cathedral, and here in this photo you can see the very front with its two towers that hold the bells including the famous Emmanuel Bell, and in fact, there are also tower visits available at Notre dame Cathedral
