A hidden best temple in Japan: Fuki-ji
You might already know or even have visited some Japanese famous temples such as; Kinkaku-ji, Senso-ji, Todai-ji, etc.
Here I want to introduce my best temple! It is called Fuk-iji (富貴寺).
It is a beautiful symmetry golden temple. It is not a gorgeous temple as Kinkaku-ji but rigid and quiet. Through the year, there are not so many tourists. I strongly recommend visiting there in Autumn because, as you can see in the picture, the temple will be covered with colored leaves and it looks just beautiful.
Where is it?
It is located on Kunisaki peninsular (国東半島) in Oita prefecture (大分県) in Kyushu island (九州).What kind of temple is it?
It is a Tendai school (天台宗) temple and has been started in 718. It is the oldest remaining wood-made building in Kyushu island. It was selected as a Japanese national treasure in 1952.
