📍 Capitancillo Islet in Bogo City, Cebu

Situated in the northern part of Cebu, Bogo City, the stunning beauty of the ever coral line Capitancillo islet has come to being to unleash more the astonishing gifts of nature.

Capitancillo is a small uninhabited island northeast of Cebu Island in the Camotes Sea. It is 6.1 kilometres (3.8 mi) east of Odlot barangay, Bogo. The island is a protected marine sanctuary, featuring three dive sites and a lighthouse.

According to legends, the Capitancillo islet was named after the captain of a Spanish trading vessel, Captain Basillo who during the second world war, beached his vessel heading to this isolated yet a refreshing islet. Story goes that he offended a local datu, Datu Bugtopasan. The datu cursed the captain by transforming his ship into an island.

You could barely see a picturesque of the very clear blue water with tiny white sands aground. When you go off the waters, you will surely discover the treasured marine sanctuary of the City of Bogo where the true beauty of the islet lies.
