I once been to a lagoon in Australia as well! That's a lagoon very near to Great Barrier Reef called Lady Musgrave Island. Personally I recommend you to go there as well since it is one of the places where you can see the reef in Great Barrier Reef the closest :)
That sounds like something i'd really enjoy, thanks for letting me know about that, I am really looking forward to visiting that part of the world!
