Introducing my hometown İstanbul # 1 - Yaşadığım şehir olan İstanbul'u tanıtma # 1 ENG - TR

As a local of this city, I think I have so much things to write about İstanbul. I am sure that this is not gonna be short article. If you ever been in İstanbul before, you can understand that why it’s not should be short. Beacuse İstanbul is a huge city and there are many historical places to write. Istanbul is the only city that served as the capital of three huge empire that spent over two continents named Ottoman, Byzantine and Roman Empire. Ottoman Empire took the city from Byzantine in 1453.The name of city was Konstantinopolis in Byzantine time. After Ottoman took the city, the name of city bacome İstanbul. Nowadays İstanbul is really crowded. This city has about 20 million people. Most of the people here just beacuse there are many job oppertunity. Personally, I would love to live western part of Turkey such as İzmir, Muğla.

Bu şehrin bir yerlisi olarak sanırım İstanbul’la ilgili yazacak çok şeyim var. Bu yazanın kısa olmayacağına eminim. Eğer İstanbul’da daha önce bulunduysanız, neden bu yazının kısa olmaması gerektiğini anlayabilirsiniz. Çünkü İstanbul gerçekten çok büyük bir şehir ve yazılması gereken çok tarihi yerler var. İstanbul üç büyük imparatorluğa başkentlik yapmış 2 kıtayı birleştiren tek şehirdir. Bu imparatorluklar ; Bizans, Roma ve Osmanlı imparatorluğudur. Bizans döneminde şehrin adı Konstantinapolisti. 1453’de Osmanlı şehri fethettikten sonra, şehrin adı İstanbul oldu. Şu sıralar İstanbul gerçekten çok kalabalık. Şehirde yaklaşık 20 milyon kişi yaşıyor. İstanbul’da yaşayanların çoğu sadece iş imkanının çok olduğu için kalıyor. Şahsen Türkiye’nin Ege bölgesinde bir yerde yaşamak isterdim İzmir, Muğla gibi.

Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia is one of the most important monuments of the architectural history. It’s the oldest cathedral of the World. It has been built as an Orthodox Churh. When Ottoman conquered İstanbul, It was converted into a mosque and In 1934, It’s converted into a museum.

Ayasofya, mimari tarihin en önemli anıtlardan bir tanesidir ve Dünyanın en eski Katedralidir. Zamanında Ortodoks Kilisesi olarak inşa edilmiş fakat Osmanlı İstanbul’u fethettiğinde, camiye dönüştürüldü ve 1934’de müze statüsüne alındı.

The Madiden’s Tower

The maiden’s Tower whose history dates back to the 4th century BC constitutes an important part of the sillhouette of İstanbul. When it became necessary to lighten small rock at the entrance of the Bosporus a tower and lighthouse was built here. Althouht it was also used for other purposes, the tower had always been used as a lighthouse. When the empire was told that his daughter was going to die as a result of snakebite, locked his daughter in this tower in fear and his daughter died after being bitten by a snake hidden in the fruit basket sent by the prince. This is the most common legend the tower.

Kız kulesinin tarihi M.Ö 4. Yüzyıla kadar dayanmaktadır ve İstanbul’un silueti açısından çok önemli bir konumda yer alır. Boğazın girişindeki gemiler için tehlikeli olabilecek kayalığı işaretlemek için buraya Bizans döneminde bir deniz feneri inşa edildi. Daha sonra bu deniz feneri genişletilerek deniz karakolu ve gözetleme kulesi oldu. Daha sonra halk arasında çeşitli efsaneler türetildi. İmparator kahinlerinden kızının yılan sokulmasıyla öldürüleceğini öğrenir bunun üzerine denizin ortasındaki bu kuleyi yaptırır ve kızını kurtarır. Bu, Kız kulesinin en yaygın efsanelerindendir.

İstiklal Avenue

This is İstiklal Avenue which is one of the most busiest pedestrian streets in the World. On an average day 2 millon people walk on this Street. And there is always action 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in this place. Along the street there are many shops, shoping malls, cafes, bars and night clubs. İstiklal Avenue is actually considered the heart of İstanbul.

İstiklal caddesi, sadece yayalara açık Dünyadaki en işlek caddelerden bir tanesidir. Günde ortalama 2 milyon insanın yürüdüğü bu cadde, 7/24 canlı ve faaliyet doludur. İstiklal caddesinde, bir çok mağaza, kafe, bar ve gece kulüpleri bulabilirsiniz ve ayrıca Bu cadde İstanbul’un kalbi olarak görülür.
